We had a lovely time in Gunjur! Being the only 2 guests we were pampered by all. Mamadou made the best dishes, Asi gave us a wonderful massage and Sunny and Oblai took us around with nice stories en a sunny face! We really felt welcome. Jo and Butch made a special day for our wedding anniversity. THANKS

| Anyone thinking of staying here in Gunjur, don’t hesitate. Jenny and Brendon are ace hosts, and will help out as much as they can. Brendon constructed a wooden case for a painting I bought, ready for the flight home - not easy as it was triangular shaped! No charge for his labour. The Gambian staff are friendly, welcoming & relaxed, and the experienced cook’s butterfish is tropical heaven! The rooms are airy and clean. Thanks. I stayed 3 nights at the end of December 2008. | Hi everyone, This is a late comment. I was Joke's roommate in october. Did not know what to expect but I had a really great time. I had all the time to relax. You and your staff looked after us with joy and thoughtfulness. I would have liked some more coaching for the djembe. The massage was devine and had I stayed any longer would have had a second "helping". I am still working on the DVD and it should be finished any day now. Has taken some time to start it. The photo's are on the way with Ismaela. He promised to take them to you. How's the baby? Growing well I hope, not bothered by the heat yet? Well thanks again. Pauline |

I stayed at the project this Nov. It was absolutely amazin. I was a little worried about being a lone female in Africa but the team at the project made me feel so welcome. I was introduced to all the staff and guests. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. From the moment I got there it felt like my second home. Such a family orientated enviroment. Can't wait to return. Thanks to you all.

Fab website really good and very informative. We all had such an amazing experience in The Gambia, especially the children. The cultural experience has had a huge impact on them, they still remember the songs and how to play the drums!! Our sincere love to you all and thank you for a truely memorable time xxxxx

I am happy that Gunjur is developing bit by bit like this. It is indeed a very happy moment when I came to realise that this project is up and running in Gunjur my home town. Bravo to "The Gunjur Project Gambia". Keep it up and I do hope to join you in some of your youth activities as a citizen of Gunjur. Thank you. Regards. Zac.

Hi Everyone. The new webpages are great and browsing through has brought back great memories and a smile to my face. We here at Plas Madoc are still giving presentations to various groups about our time out there and it is great to see that the young people are still as enthusiastic about it five months on as they were when we returned. What is better is to see the difference it has made in their lives and we hope we made a difference in the lives of those we met out there.I do have one problem though - that was my first trip abroad so how could I ever top the experience I had there?

Hi everyone at the gunjur project!!! This is Kim and Liz from the Plas Madoc group, and we just want to say what a fantastic time we had with you all, we learnt a lot not only about The Gambia but about ourselves. Hope to see you all again next year, and we were wondering when members of your project are coming over to the UK. Thankyou for an AMAZING experience, Kim and Liz xxxxxxxxxxx

Hello to one and all!!! It seems like a long time ago that we were with you all but i'll never forget it. The gunjur project is a fantastic holiday and a fantastic experience. You could not find nicer people, the staff were so friendly and helpul and happy. We had so much fun and we learnt so much too. The gambians and there way of life is so far from our own, it's a good reminder of what life is really about. I'd reccomend anybody going, all age groups would benefit and have a wonderful time. So if your reading this and haven't been before, what are you waiting for, get on and book your ticket!!!! Thankyou to all the staff for looking after us, putting up with us and making us smile. And a special thanks to Jenny, bren, Jo and Butch. Hope to see you all soon xxx

If you haven't made your mind up then read on ... Mark and I came out to visit the Gunjur Project and got a five star service in a five star country. The staff are so friendly and helpful, and you have everything you need. The beds are comfortable with mosquit nets, on-suit bathroom and you even have your own little veranda. On site you have lots of areas to sit or sunbath, hammocks amongst the psalm trees and loungers by the pool. The Banta bar is great to hang out and they serve the best food I've ever tasted! We got picked up at the airport and taken on some memorable trips, such as a boat trip to Senegal and a vist to a snake sanctuary and Abuka reserve. One of the best things about the trip was the locals you meet just out and about on foot. The beautiful beach is a short walk away and the nature reserve has amazing bird life and lovely staff to show you round. It was such an emotional experience that really makes you take a look at your own values and puts life into perspective. I'm coming back next year (2009) and still working on bring a group of young people over possibly thinking about how to do an exchange. So thanks Jenny, Bren, Jo, Butch and all the staff for making everything so perfect and we hope to see you all soon. And to anyone reading this who hasn't been - you won't get better value for money in the Gambia and certainly not a better service! Susan and Mark PS Drumming was great too - been practising in Garden!!

Myself and Storme had a truly wonderful time at the Gunjur Project. We were looked after and catered for so well by the wonderful friendly staff and proprietors, in so many ways, more than we could have hoped for, we felt like one of the family by the time we left, in fact, have you built our house yet, we are coming back soon !! We had an amazingly relaxing, educational and fun time with some totally unforgettable moments that we are still treasuring. A truly wonderful place with some truly wonderful people who are trying to maintain and share some of the wonderful qualities of the Gambia. Excellent work is carried out here, with the visiting childrens groups and we hope that this will continue to grow and help educate more and more of our deserving kids. The rooms were great (what a massive bed) the food was great(where else would you get a veggie nut roast and all the trimmings the day you arrive?) the people were great (where else can you throw one of the bosses in the pool and not get thrown off the premises ?) and the area is so beautiful (10 mins away, sitting drinking a glass of wine on a deserted beach, watching the sunset) we are so looking forward to coming back and spending time with you all again, Sarah and Storme xxx
